Hello, Hi, Hey, Hola And Lastly Bonjour!
Welcome to my blog!
Oh my goodness, I can’t believe I said that and I will say that again…. Welcome to my blog… Welcome, Welcome, Welcome, Greetings, Hello, Hi, Hola and bonjour. Okay, I promise I am done.
My name is Ashley Merlanie. My name is actually Ashley but I’ve added my middle name so I don’t mix into the bunch of Ashley’s and I love the story behind my middle name. My middle name is Merlanie because both my grandmother and mother’s middle name is Mercedes, so to keep the tradition going my mother added “Mer”to my middle name. I sometimes wish my name was Ashley Merlanie, so moving forward my preference is Ashley Merlanie and I will only respond to the name Ashley Merlanie. Wow, look at me creating boundaries. Haha.
A little backstory of myself; I am a first generation American-Dominican. Both of my parents are from the Dominican Republic. I was born in the Bronx and first laid my head up near where cardi b stomping grounds and I live near Jennifer Lopez old neighborhood in castle hill. I am an aspiring news anchor in the making. It is a dream of mine to be a news anchor for Good Morning America or The Today Show. Oh I almost forgot, I’m disabled. My disability is called cerebral palsy. The motor skills of my brain cells are practically dead and I’m alive based on God’s faith
The mission of my blog is to create a space of community for people with different stories, backgrounds and perspectives to come together and talk about it while I share mine along with you guys. I’m always astonished by the women and some men that I am around because of the deep intellectual conversations we have based on the subject it’s touched on and when this happens. I enjoy having conversations when I am with my girlfriends and we get to talking based on everything. We share, learn and most importantly indulge into these types of conversations. So with that being said, I am bringing you into my world and everything Ashley merlanie. I look forward to reading your comments and interacting with each and every one of you.
